Flying needles quilters contribute to local community groups through our ongoing programs for Project Linus, Rotts of Friends, Ronald McDonald House, and quilts for Hospice Care.

  • Project Linus: We encourage our members to make youth blankets for all ages that the Yolo County Chapter, distributes to a large variety of programs focused  on children in need, mostly in Yolo County.

  • Ronald McDonald House, Sacramento: Quilts and pillow cases are made and donated in addition to collecting aluminum can tabs for Ronald McDonald House.

  • Rotts of Friends, Woodland: Rotts of Friends is a non profit that rescues , rehabilitates and places animals in forever homes. We make dog beds using scraps of fabric. The quilt in the photo made by Lana Hanney and quilted by Gina Boyd (both guild members), was donated to Rotts of Friends Animal Rescue, and auctioned at their 8th Annual Mutts & Martinis fundraiser in June 2018.  All proceeds benefitted Rotts of Friends Animal Rescue for the care and placement of unwanted and abused animals.

  • Hospice Care: We make and donate quilts used for Hospice Care at Woodland Memorial Hospital.

During the Yolo County Fair, you will also see us hanging quilts and welcoming the public to the quilt building.
